Carmel – Bryan Linwood Hodgkins, 73, passed away December 11, 2015 at a Bangor healthcare facility. He was born August 30, 1942, in Flushing, New York, the son of Dana and Marjorie (Hall) Hodgkins.
When Bryan was a young boy his family moved to Bangor where he attended Bangor schools, graduating from Bangor High School, Class of 1960. When Bryan was 20, he joined the US Coast Guard. After 2 years he transferred to the US Navy where he served his country as a radar technician. After his discharge from the Navy, Bryan held various jobs before he began a 35 year career with National Cash Register. He was a Field Tech, working on cash registers, ATM machines, credit card machines, and computers. After retirement he worked for the Town of Carmel for several years until his health started to fail. Bryan loved to spend his spare time hunting and fishing. He was a past member of Ducks Unlimited in Vermont. Bryan will be known for his love of his wife, his children and his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bryan was predeceased by his brother David Hodgkins, and sister-in-law Kathy Hodgkins. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Tina; his son Jonathan Bryan Hodgkins and wife Lisa; daughter Karen Marie Adam; 2 granddaughters, Megan and Katelyn Hodgkins; brothers Dennis and wife Yvonne, Peter and wife Linda, Tim, and Randy; sister Patricia Robbins and husband Bruce; and Pat’s children Will and Nate.
A memorial service will be held 3pm Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with Rev. Art Gowie, officiating.
