LEVANT-Carl Henry Mason, 63, passed away April 18, 2021, at his home, after a nine month battle with brain cancer. He was born June 26, 1957, in Bangor, the son of Elwood A. and Phyllis E. (Townsend) Mason. Carl graduated from Hermon High School, Class of 1977. The farm had been his whole life; he worked and lived on the farm, and volunteered for the Levant Fire Department for many years. He delivered oil for HE Cliff and Sons. He had spent the last seven years plowing snow for the town of Levant. Carl loved to fish, hunt and go camping. He was always the “Camp Cook” whenever he camped out. The children always knew they had a teacher, friend, and play buddy. Over the years, Carl has passed on his lifetime of experience that he gained from his dad, from showing how to run the equipment, to raising the animals on the farm. Carl is survived by his loving wife of forty two years, Brenda J. (Benner) Mason; daughter, Stephanie Mason, and her partner, Mike Bentinnen, of Levant; son, Paul Mason; a special friend, Charlie Cramer; brothers, Dennis Mason, and his wife, Cecilia, of Bucksport, Fred Mason II and his wife, Nancy, Kenneth Mason and his wife, Ronna; sister, Melissa Musinski and her husband, Joseph, all of Levant. Carl also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends. He leaves a void in many lives. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2021, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, April 24, 2021. Interment will be in Levant Cemetery, Levant. Please be mindful of others by practicing social distancing, wearing a face covering, that staff will be conducting contact tracing, and be aware that the number of people allowed in the building at one time is limited.
