Exeter - Carl H. Palmer, 86, died peacefully at home on June 25, 2021, with his wife Loraine (Eaton) Palmer and family by his side. He was born December 12, 1934 in Exeter, ME. He began his adventurous life, the son of Lester and Vera (Simpson) Palmer.
Carl worked at West Penobscot Telephone Company and eventually became President of this Company along with Hartland and St. Albans Telephone company. These companies being acquired by Telephone and Data Systems where he continued his career for a total of 45 years. He was a member of the Telephone Association of Maine and held several public office positions for the Town of Exeter.
Carl enjoyed working in his shop fabricating and restoring antique equipment, hunting, fly fishing, camping in the Moosehead area and flying his Aeronca Champ airplane from the air strip he built on his family farm. When Carl was younger, he spent a lot of time on his flathead Harley. He also enjoyed staying at his camp that he built on Lake Wassookeag in Dexter, ME.
In addition to his wife and best friend of 66 years, Loraine, he is survived by his sister, Evelyn of Pittsfield, son, Reggie and his significant other Nancy of Levant, ME, son, Rick and his wife Susan of Brewer, ME. Grandchildren, Marci Mccafferty and her husband Devon of Holden, ME and their children Kameron, Kyleigh and Kendahl; Ross Palmer and his wife Jessie of Exeter, ME and their children Brayden, Gavin and Caylee; Luke Palmer and his significant other Hilary of Canaan, NY and Ashley Palmer of Exeter, ME. His special furry friend, Mittens.
Carl enjoyed spending time with his good friends Vern Crane, Dale Hopkins, Steve Turner and Charlie Perkins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother John, sister Edith and niece, Jayne.

Friends are invited to call with the family from 10 to 11 am on Thursday, July 1, 2021, with services at 11am at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1195 Stetson Rd., Exeter, ME, followed by committal at Exeter Center Cemetery and reception at Cornerstone Baptist Church.
