CARLENE LEE CONEY
Bangor – Carlene L. Coney, 64, died on March 17, 2022, at a Bangor hospital after a short yet courageously fought battle against leukemia. She was born on October 1, 1957, in Portland, Maine to Samuel and Georgiana (Archer) Coney.
After moving at a young age, Carlene spent her childhood in Lincoln and grew up with her siblings, Iris, Danny, Sam and Irene. One of her fondest childhood memories was of digging for clams with her father. Carlene worked as a freelance writer for numerous publications over the years and wrote countless articles on a wide range of topics.
Throughout the majority of her life, she was a proud member of Full Gospel Tabernacle of Lincoln. Her faith in God was always a source of strength and comfort to herself and those who knew her. She was a generous and compassionate woman and a dedicated and loving mother with an enduring appreciation of Southern Gospel and the music of Elvis Presley.
Carlene is survived by her four children; Daniel, Amy, Christopher, and Andreanna; her beloved grandson, Dominic; her husband, Patrick; and her siblings, and their children and grandchildren. She will be missed by her extended family whom she cherished.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 1 p.m. Saturday, April 30th, 2022 at Full Gospel Tabernacle, 14 Fleming Street, Lincoln, where a funeral service will be held with Brother Tony Stewart, officiating.
Interment will be in Park Street Cemetery, Lincoln. The family invites friends and relatives to share conversation and refreshments in the gathering room of Full Gospel Tabernacle following the interment.
Anyone who knew Carlene knew of her love of animals, therefore those who wish to remember Carlene in a special way may make donations in her memory to the Penobscot Valley Humane Society, 1 Park Ave, Lincoln, ME 04457.
