Bangor – Carlton D. Hammond II, 72, passed away November 15, 2021 in Bangor. He was born August 30, 1949 in Middletown, Ohio, the son of Carlton Daniel and Dorothy (Dauphine) Hammond.
Carlton received a BA degree in psychology from the University of Cincinnati and a masters degree in education from University of Cincinnati. He did pre-doctorate work at Miami University in clinical psychology.
Carlton was an educator and taught in Ohio, Illinois and Iowa. He was also active in real estate, holding a license in Ohio, Illinois and Iowa. Carlton retired to Bangor, Maine in 2003 where he loved and enjoyed his large Maine family, entertaining friends, visits from his Ohio family, and eating lobster.
He loved you to the moon and back.
Carlton is survived by his three sons, Jason Daniel, Peter Andrew (Rachel), and Kristofor Aaron (Jamie); two grandsons, Kristofor Aaron II, and Daniel Lee; his first wife, Kristen and a sister, Ann Wordeman (Matt).
He loved his family, music, and eating out. Carlton was a free spirit and will be missed by his sons, family, and friends. The best is yet to come and won’t it be grand.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Brookings-Smith 133 Center St., Bangor where a funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. All are invited to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor immediately following the service.
Funeral services in Ohio will be held December 1, 2021 at Swart Funeral Home. Interment will be held December 2, 2021 in Evergreen Cemetery, West Carrollton, Ohio.
