Carlton “Red” Martin, 82, went home to the Lord, December 31, 2015 with his family by his side. He was born in Saco, February 20, 1933, son of Harry W. and Marjorie (Weeden) Martin.
He entered the US Air Force in 1950, was discharged in 1953, then reenlisted in the US Army in 1955, and was honorably discharged in October, 1972.
Red was employed with General Motors in Framingham, MA., and moved to Bangor in 1988 and became employed with the City of Bangor, retiring in 1998.
He was a member of the Charleston Church and the Joseph Chaisson American Legion Post #41 of Milo.
Surviving are, his wife, Lori; two sons, Johnathan and his wife, Alyx, George and his wife, Joeann,; one daughter, Debbie Sumner; one step-daughter, Rose Arsenault; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Edward Martin; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews.
Special friends, Paul and Christine Thomas.
Red was predeceased by his first wife, Virginia, and two brothers.
The family would like to thank the staff of Unit D, at the Maine Veteran’s Home, Bangor for their kindness and care.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2015 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where relatives and friends are welcome to call 1 p.m. until time of service.
