Carol Ware

July 8, 1936 — December 11, 2021

Bangor- Carol Evelyn Ware, 85, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side, Saturday December 11, 2021. She was born July 8, 1936 in Bangor, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Leonard) Friedman.
Carol, (Peanut) graduated from Bangor High School class of 1954 and Husson College class of 1956. While working at Viner’s Music, she met Theodore “Ted” Ware and they were married September 14, 1956. Together they raised their two daughters. Carol enjoyed working at the Husson College Bookstore until her retirement. She loved playing cards with her sister Mickey Tracy, very special friend Gail Gross and many other wonderful friends during her retirement. She worked after retirement with her dear friend Nancy Paul at her dress store. She loved the times when her family could all be together.
Carol was pre-deceased by her husband Ted, her sisters, Mickey Tracy, Rose Gerrish and Sandra Pearson, and her beloved son-in-law David Swanson. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Longfellow, Karen Wellington and her husband Joe. Her grandson Daniel Longfellow II, (from her written draft; “the light of her life”), his wife Allison and Great Granddaughter Ava Madison. Her “One Special Granddaughter”, Emma Wellington (in her own words), and her fiancé Matt Coulter. Her beloved brothers, John and Robert Friedman, and Philip and Perry Theriault. As well as many very special Nephews and Nieces.
Carol Resided at Solstice Senior Living Center for the last three years, where she made many a friend and continued to play cards, Bingo and Pokeno. Informing us that there was a roll of dimes in her walker in her last days. The family would like to thank Matt and the wonderful staff at Solstice that became a second family to her.
Barbara and Karen would also like to extend our heartfelt Thank you to Dr. Fachiol, Dr. Adamson and Dr. Bach of Northern Light Health Palliative Care for the wonderful Comfort Care they provided our mother. We also would like to thank the staff of Androscoggin Hospice House for the last few days of her care and fulfilling her wish of a peaceful transition.
