Carole J. (Stevenson) Wasson, 65, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2014, at the home of her sister, Judy and husband Jim Blanchard, of Hudson, Maine. She was born September 17, 1948, in Bangor, the daughter of Elgin Elroy and Velma Pearl (Pomeroy) Stevenson.
Carole graduated from Hermon High School, Class of 1966. Carole worked for the Georgia-Pacific (formerly James River) paper mill in Old Town for 24 years.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Edward (Sonny) Nowell and LeRoy Nowell. Surviving, are her sons Sean Wasson of Augusta and Brian Wasson and wife Melissa, of Levant; the father of her children, Laurence Wasson of Levant; two grandchildren, Joy Wasson and Wyatt Wasson; two sisters, Judith (Stevenson) Blanchard and husband James of Hudson and Maxine (Nowell) Keeler of Bangor; four special nieces, Terri Wark of Sangerville, Michelle Reardon of Haverhill, MA, Tracy Blazina of Corinth, and Nicole Richards of Orono, along with many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and friends.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7 pm, with a vigil remembrance at 5:30 pm, Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St, Bangor. A private family service will be held in July 2014 on the coast of Maine. Those who wish to remember Carole in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mt.
