Carolyn “Callie” W. Ellis, 87, passed away peacefully, February 8, 2014, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren at her bedside. Callie was born January 27, 1927, in Bangor, the daughter of Herbert and Lucy (Worster) Wilson.
Callie was a spirited and loving woman who valued her family most in life. For 25 years, she enjoyed her work at H.D. Smith and Sons as a secretary. She loved ten pin bowling with family and friends. She took great pride in her lawn, mowing it faithfully. Callie also enjoyed her time spent at her camp on Pushaw Lake.
In addition to her parents, Callie was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Lawrence Ellis, Sr. She is survived by her children, Sharon Beadnell and her husband, Herb of Saco, Becki Ellis and her fiancé, Priwan Moontri of Bangor, and Lawrence Ellis, Jr. and his wife, Lee Ann of Bangor. She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, multiple great grandchildren, and her faithful black Lab, Holly.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St. where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2014. Interment will be in the City Section of Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Those who wish to remember Callie in a special way may make gifts in her memory to EMMC Heart Care or Cancer Care, C/O EMHS Foundation, P.O. Box 931, Bangor, ME 04402-0931.
