BAR HARBOR - Carolyn Ruth (Somers) Housman, 61, of Hulls Cove, Maine, sadly left us on May 6th 2024. She was born October 12, 1962, in Watkins Glen, New York, the daughter of Brian and Hurshelleen “Hurshey” (Crossman) Somers.
Carolyn worked as a phlebotomist and massage therapist. She spent her later years caring for her parents. She was previously married to Dr. Michael Housman and with their daughter Brianna, they lived in Searsport, Maine. She had a lust for living a full life and crossed the Atlantic in a sailboat when she was in her late twenties, spending time in the Caribbean and British Virgin Islands.
Those close to Carolyn appreciated her gentle heart, her wicked Maine sense of humor and her generosity in giving of herself to others. Her charm and beauty were unmistakable and she will be missed for her quirky smile and laughter. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to your favorite charity and prayers for her safe passage are welcomed.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Somers; niece, Hanna Somers Jones and her daughter, Brianna Housman, all of whom she loved dearly.
