C. Louise Smith, 85, passed away October 2, 2022 at her home. She was born in Houlton, July 31, 1937 the daughter of George and Mary Agnes (Bolger) Griffin.
Louise graduated from Hodgdon High School and Eastern Maine General Hospital as a registered nurse I 1958. She worked at EMMC and Acadia Surgical Suite most of her life.
Louise was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. She was a reader at mass and an apostolic minister, taking communion to the shut-ins. She touched hundreds of lives in the five decades of working in the medical field.
Louise married her husband Stanley in 1959 and they raised four sons, Stanley “Skip” (predeceased), his wife Johnna, Michael and his wife Pam, Peter and his wife Kim, Kevin and his wife Wendy; grandchildren, Matt, Haley, Shani, Travis, Miranda, Colby Taylor, Denali, Noelle, and Micah; fourteen great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son Skip and a brother Danny Griffin.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 6 pm to 8 pm Friday, October 7, 2022 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Saturday, October 8, 2022 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 70 Western Ave. Hampden. The Rite of Committal will be at Riverview Cemetery, Main Road, Hampden.
