HAMPDEN - Charles ‘Charlie’ J. Willey, formerly of Brighton MA passed away unexpectedly on April 20, 2023. Charlie was predeceased by his wife, Teresa ‘Tessie’ and loving companion of many years, Carole Vincent.
Devoted uncle of Stephen H. Stepanian and his wife, Darcy M. Vary of Waltham, MA, Roy Willey Jr. of Brighton, MA, Joseph Flanagan and wife, Margie of Westwood, MA, Carol Krueger and her husband, Charlie of Dedham, Arlene Sullivan and her husband, Michael of Westwood, MA, Cynthia Marsh and her husband, David of Auburn, NH and dear sister-in-law, Marie Willey of Dedham, MA. He is also survived by many grand nephews and nieces and very special friends, Connie Ramsey and Gene Judkins of Hampden, ME.
Dear brother of the late Roy P. Willey of Dedham, MA, and the late Arlene Flanagan of Brighton, MA, and Eleanore Stepanian of Waltham, MA.
Charlie served in the armed forces in Panama as Military Police. After returning home to the greater Boston area for some years, Charlie was the proprietor and day bartender of the Ye Olde Shamrock Cafe, a neighborhood tavern popular amongst Brighton & Allston, MA residents. His love of all sports, quick wit and friendly sarcasm was enjoyed by all. Upon his retirement, Charlie and Carole left the city and moved to Hampden ME, to enjoy the Pine Tree State and the beauty of their lakefront property.
