Charlotte Alma Delano, 84, passed away December 10th, 2022. She was born February 19th, 1938, in Millinocket, the daughter of George and Arlene (McLaughlin) Dickey.
Charlotte grew up in Medway, and was a graduate of Schenk High School, East Millinocket. She went on to work in St. Joseph’s Hospital as a CNA where she worked for over 30 years. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and even became a master gardener through UM Cooperative Extension. She was also a member of the Bangor Nature Club and the Bangor Garden Club. She was very active in the community as she was also a member of Corinth Baptist Church and a long term member of Kenduskeag Grange. Charlottle also liked bird watching.
She is survived by her children; her daughter, Wanda Taylor of Medway, her son, Glenn Delano and his partner, Laura, of Millinocket, her daughter, Penni Hill and her husband, Nick, of Hudson; her devoted grandson, Patrick Delano of Kenduskeag; 9 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 2 great, great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and 2 very special dogs, Simba and Nila. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Perley K. Delano, Sr. and her sons; Perley K. Delano III and Daniel Delano; and her daughter, Valerie Delano.
There will be an open house time of remembrance held at her home in Kenduskeag, January 14, 2023, 12-3 pm.
