Cheryl A. Curtis, 67, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on April 2, 2024, in Bangor. She was born on August 23, 1956, in Bangor, the daughter of Leslie F. and Mary T. (Doughty) Gallant.
Cheryl attended Baxter School for the Deaf, where she graduated in 1975. During her school years, she participated in cheerleading, Girl Scouts, typing, and met her husband, Ralph. She worked at a shoe store during her younger years and eventually retired as a housekeeper from EMMC and Acadia Hospital. She enjoyed spending time with her bowling league, playing Bingo, and attending deaf clubs with her friends. Cheryl had a passion for Florida, relaxing in the warm sunshine, and sipping strawberry daiquiris with her family at Sharky’s. As a homebody, she cherished spending time with her cat, "Kitty," and loved summer camping trips with her family at Duck Lake. She adored her grandchildren, who always brought a smile to her face, and was always ready for a game of Uno or Skip-Bo. Cheryl found joy in watching Kyle Busch in NASCAR races, in memory of her late husband, Ralph. Her laughter was contagious.
She is survived by her siblings, Sandra Carnevale, Gary Gallant and his wife Rosalie, Jerry Gallant, Mark Gallant and his wife Donna, and Tammie Wiley and her husband Ronnie; her daughters, Jennifer Turcotte, her husband Jeff, and Angela Curtis; her two grandchildren, Laura Turcotte and Chase Davis; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Cheryl was predeceased by her parents, her husband Ralph Curtis, her brother Daniel Gallant Sr., and her brother-in-law Bill Carnevale.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend her Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 4th, 2024, from 12-3 p.m. at the Bradford Town Hall, 345 E Road, Bradford, ME.
