BANGOR - Cheryl E. Richard, 75, went home to be with the Lord after a long illness June 15, 2022, surrounded by her children. She was born July 20, 1946 in Lewiston, Maine, the daughter of Doris (Walker) Robinson and Niles D. Robinson.
Cheryl graduated from Edward Little High School, Class of 1964, and following high school, Mr. Bernard’s School of Hair Fashion. She began her working career as a beautician with her first husband at their beauty shop and later in life was an owner of boarding homes for the elderly. Cheryl was a dedicated caregiver for the elderly until she retired in 2010.
Cheryl will be remembered by all as a kind and giving soul who loved life and always put her family above all else. She was often described by others as the sweetest person they knew. She was also known as a great cook and baker.
Cheryl was predeceased by her husband of 26 years, Lee G. Richard and her baby brother, Ralph Robinson. She is survived by her son, Robert Gilbert and his wife, Kellie, of Stafford, Virginia; daughters, Jennifer Gallagher of Orrington, Maine and Jodi Gilbert, of Brewer, Maine; sons, Jason Richard, of Bradley, Maine and Cliff Richard and his wife, Felicia, of Umatilla, Florida; her sister, Merry Robinson, of Bradley, Maine; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law.
A funeral service will be held 3pm, Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 2pm until time of service, Saturday. The family invites all to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor, immediately following the services.
