Brewer and Bangor – Cheryll Ann McLaughlin, 66, died peacefully January 23, 2019. She was born June 13, 1952, in Bangor, the daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Kitchen) Clark.
Cheryll graduated from Brewer High School in 1970. Following graduation she married her high school sweetheart, Nelson McLaughlin. Cheryll traveled with Nelson, an Army Veteran, and lived in Georgia, Massachusetts, and Germany, before returning to Maine to raise a family. She worked on the Bangor Air National Guard Base as an Administrative Assistant to the Chaplin. Her most rewarding job was working with the Families And Children Together (FACT) Agency in Bangor, ME, where she and her husband became foster parents for 11 years. She became very active in the Foster Care community as an educator and mentor.
Cheryll enjoyed exploring the country by RV with her husband and their loving dogs, Krissy and Tanner. She cherished the times spent with her grandchildren and was a very proud grandma.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Nelson; a son, Nelson Jr.; and a grandson, Samuel John Taylor.
Cheryll is survived by her daughter, Noel and her husband, Alex, of Massachusetts; son, Noah, of South Berwick; a sister, Barbara J. Carlow, and her husband, Ron, of Hermon; a brother, Scott Clark, and his wife, Sharon, of South Carolina; three grandchildren, Natalie, Jack, and Anna; as well many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the 5th floor CCU staff, doctors and nurses at Northern Light Medical Center, especially Michelle who helped Cheryll on her journey and a heartfelt thank you for the loving support she received from to the VNA staff that took such good care of her.
