HOULTON AND HAMPDEN - Christy Joy Morrell-Stearns, 51, earned her heavenly wings after a long battle with cancer July 22, 2022, in Hampden. She was born May 11, 1971, the daughter of Steven and Sherrill (Reid) Morrell.
Christy graduated Hampden Academy, Class of 1989 and went on to earn her degrees in Occupational Therapy Assisting and in Medical Assisting. Most will remember her as her dad’s right-hand girl at his accounting office. Christy loved to bless others and she loved to laugh. Her positive and silly personality has lit up many rooms.
Christy leaves behind, for now, the love of her life, Matthew; her father, Steven Morrell; father-in-law, Alvin Stearns; son and heartbeat, Benjamin “Jessie” Everhart; step-daughter, Lilly Everhart; brother, Steven Jr.; niece, Ashley Morrell; her 2 besties, Stacey and Lori; Aunt Louise; and a few special cousins. She will be welcomed to Heaven by her mother, Sherrill; niece, Cheyenne; and her grandparents; along with aunts and uncles she adored. 2 Cor 5:9 To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
A Celebration of Christy’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 5, 2022, at the Hampden Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Hampden, immediately following the service.
