BREWER - Claudette L. McLaughlin, 88, passed away peacefully February 12, 2023., at a local health care facility. She was born July 29, 1934, in Frenchville, the daughter of Anne Marie and William Roy.
Claudette married Eugene McLaughlin and together they raised three boys from their home in Brewer, Maine. They both worked at Viner Shoe in Bangor for years and made many friends and memories. She was deeply religious and a proud member of the Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed knitting hats and mittens for her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was known locally as “the lady in the purple hat”.
In addition to her parents, Claudette was predeceased by her husband, Gene; and their three boys, Nelson, Nathan, and Bill; brothers; Jon and Patrick; and sisters, Jeanne, Linda, and Annette. She is survived by her sisters, Theoline, Rinette, Dianne, and Yvette; daughter, Janet; daughter-in-law, Heidi; grandchildren, Noel, Noah, Kellie, Jeff, and Brooke; and many great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2023, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer at a date and time to be announced in the spring.
