Cleo Rebecca Spear, 90, passed away peacefully on January 29th, 2024 in Bangor. Cleo was born on March 22nd, 1933, the twin daughter of Francis “Frank” and Blanche Grimes of Coalport, PA.
Cleo is survived by her children, Sharon Brasslett of Spring Hill, FL, Michael Hamel and his wife, Francis of Bangor, Cindy Hamel and her husband, Andrew Syska of Gorham, Lori Blanchard and her husband, Mark of Bangor, Robert Hamel and his wife, Julie of Dripping Springs, TX; four grandchildren, John Dionne, Christopher Day, Nicholas Blanchard, and Madison Hamel; four great-grandchildren, Evan Dionne, Bridget Dionne, Jakeb Dionne, and Caitlin Dionne; two great great-grandchildren, Owen Dionne and Hadley Ireland; her brothers, Frank and James; sisters, Mary Lou and Joyce. She was predeceased by her twin brother Cloyd; brothers, Clarence and Walter; sisters, Beatrice, Imogene and Helen.
Cleo had a large extended family and many friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Westgate, especially Teresa Trafton, for the excellent care they provided. Cleo was a bright light who shined upon everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
Relatives and friends may call from 5-7PM, Friday, February 2nd, 2024, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11AM, Saturday, February 3rd, 2024 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 768 Ohio Street, Bangor, followed by the Rite of Committal at Mt.
