Colleen Bickford

Bangor - COLLEEN FOLEY BICKFORD - 64, died April 29, 2015 with her loving family at her side. She fought a courageous fight and went the distance against her illness. She was born July 17, 1950 in Bangor, Maine, the daughter of Richard K. and Pauline (Augherton) Foley. Colleen graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1968, and attended Husson College. Colleen was a dedicated employee of Eastern Maine Medical Center for the last 42 years. Colleen loved to travel with her family, working in the garden, and spending time with her beloved dog, Baxter. Predeceased by her parents, she is survived by two daughters, Traci M. Flaster of Mooresville, N.C., and Melissa L. Bickford and "Son in Law" Stuart L. Fongemie of Bangor. The light of her life were her two grandchildren, Drew and Ryan Flaster of Mooresville, N.C. One brother, Richard K. Foley and wife Patricia of Bangor, two nieces, and one nephew who predeceased her. Mom had too many special friends to name, but found joy in all of them. The family would like to honor the dedicated staff at EMMC that cared for mom on her journey. A celebration of Colleens life will be held 11:00am Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Brookings-Smith 133 Center St., Bangor with the Rev. Dr. Rex H. Garrett, Director of Chaplaincy Services at EMMC, officiating. Friends may call from 10:00am until time of service. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor immediately following the service. Interment will be private for the family.
