Constance Cormier

VEAZIE – Constance M. Cormier, 78, died after a long illness, September 17, 2013, at a local nursing home. She was born November 24, 1934, in Bangor, the daughter of Paul and Alice (Smith) LaChance.
Connie lived in Veazie her whole life. Her most important job was family where she was married to George Cormier for 57 years, and she was at home raising four children. She was a Den mother for both her sons and worked on community events. She worked as a seamstress in Bangor and at Eastern Maine Medical Center. She also worked at John R. Graham School and for St Mary Catholic Church in Orono. Connie was a member of T.O.P.S. and Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed sewing and did alterations and sewing for many people.
Connie is survived by two daughters, Annette Cormier and her partner, Mel Towle, of Dexter, and Karen Cormier, of Glenburn; two sons, Richard Cormier and his wife, Rebecca, of Raymond, and Donald Cormier and his partner, Claire Trask, of Newburgh; four brothers, Richard LaChance, of St. Albans, Leo LaChance and his wife, Chris, of Winterport, Michael LaChance and his wife, Ava, of San Antonio, TX, and Paul LaChance and his wife, Lis, of Germany; five grandchildren, Shawn Burgess, Gretchen Burgess, Ryan Cormier, Patrick Murphy and Michael Cormier; and four great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Connie was predeceased by her husband George.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John Roman Catholic Church, 207 York St. Bangor. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Veazie, following the service. The family invites relatives, friends and neighbors to share conversation and refreshments at 4 Merrick St., Veaze.
