Cynthia A. “Tinnie” Knowles, 94, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2020, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born January 24, 1926, in Brewer, the daughter of John H. and Elsie (Morrill) Holyoke.
Tinnie loved knitting and sewing. She will be fondly remembered for all of the quilts and Christmas stockings and mittens which she made many of over the years. Tinnie enjoyed working with her sister in many craft fairs over the years selling what they had made. She was a longtime member of the North Brewer-Eddington United Methodist Church. There are many wonderful memories of times at camp at Beech Hill Pond with her family. She was a caring and giving person, especially to her family, they were the most important thing in her life.
She is survived by her loving children; Galen Knowles and wife Joy of Holden, Holly Knowles of Brewer, Harley Knowles and wife Cindy of Athens, TN; daughter-in-law, Laurie Knowles of Otis; grandchildren, Adam Knowles, Erin Twitchell, Colby Caruso, Kaylee Caruso, Aaron Adams, Aaric Adams, and Trevor Adams; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, and husband Henry, she was predeceased by two sons John and Vaughn Knowles, and all of her siblings, Donald, Barbara, Pete and Vaughn. The family would like to thank Eastside Center for Health and Rehabilitation staff as well as the caregivers of Beacon Hospice for the wonderful compassionate care you gave our mother.
Due to restrictions because of Covid 19, services will be announced in the spring. Gifts in Tinnie’s memory may be made to the N. Brewer-Eddington United Methodist Church, 31 Main Road, Eddington, ME 04428. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.
