Damaris Sullivan

Damaris M. (White) Sullivan, 81 years young, passed away on December 11, 2013 with her daughters Mary and Patty by her side. She was born June 15, 1932 in Bangor the daughter of Carl and Helen (Giggey) White. Damaris raised nine children, worked as a nurse at EMGH, BMHI, and area nursing homes for many years. Continued as a shoe stitcher at Bendy Shoe, and lastly as the kitchen manager at Bonanza restaurant in Bangor. Damaris was known for her Knitting, Homemade donuts, and canned pickles, but also her laughter, honesty and feistiness. She was a member of The Salvation Army’s Women’s Ministries Program and volunteered for the Christmas Program with her daughter at The Salvation Army for over 15 years. Damaris was affectionately known as Ma, Mom, Grammie D, to her children, grandchildren, and many kids that she took under her wing and Big Mimi to Tiffani Donlin and Gi-Gi to Jordyn and Tianna. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by two sons Carl and Joel Curtis. Damaris is survived by children Patty and her husband Bob Harnish of Winterport, Mary and her husband David MacKay of Bangor, Clifford Leteure and his wife Sue of Tennessee, Bernard Curtis of Glenburn, Dean Curtis and his wife Joyce of Bangor, Richard Sullivan of Bangor, and Heidi and her husband Rodney Seidell of Florida; nineteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
