Dana S. Moody

April 29, 1956 — August 14, 2020

CORINTH - Dana S. Moody, 64, passed away at home unexpectedly on August 14, 2020 after a brief illness. He was born April 29, 1956 in Camden, Maine, the youngest son of Waldo G. and Pauline A. (Robbins) Moody. Dana grew up in Lincolnville Center on his parent’s farm where he developed a strong work ethic and the ability to work with his hands.

Dana graduated from Camden-Rockport High School in 1975 and with the encouragement and help from his Uncle “Fuzz” and Aunt Carol Fizer, attended trade school in Boston, studying heating and air conditioning. He returned to Maine and started his career with Mechanical Services, Inc. where he worked for over 16 years.

In 1976, Dana married his high school sweetheart, Victoria Wheaton. They were an extremely close couple, the perfect team for over 44 years. Vicky thought of him as the wind beneath her wings. Together they raised their son, Mathew, Dana’s number one man, and their daughter, Jessica, who referred to her dad as her hero. He passed onto them his work ethic, a can-do attitude, and love of family.

In the fall of 1993, Dana spent endless hours starting his own commercial HVAC company, Penobscot Temperature Controls. Inc., which has successfully been in business for over 26 years. He was so very happy and proud to be able to work with Matt and Jess in his office on a daily basis, reinforcing honesty, commitment, fairness, and quality. This was his other perfect team.

Dana was a builder and a fixer, a master of all trades. He always had several projects going at once, a true “putterer”. He enjoyed spending time at the family camp on Sebec Lake, taking his girls for rides in his 1966 Ford Mustang, working on projects with Matt, especially at their sawmill, woodworking, firearms, campfires, and listening to Country Gold Saturday Night. Over the past few years, he collected and fixed up antique Farmall tractors. One of his favorite things was mowing his fields on his family’s tractor, a 1950 Super C Farmall, “Mother’s Tractor” as he called it. He absolutely loved seeing his sweet granddaughters, Ashlee, Abby, Megan, and Maddie, on a regular basis. Grampie felt so fortunate to have them be able to walk or ride their bikes over for frequent visits, and watch them ride their snowmobiles and 4-wheelers around the field, blowing kisses or giving hugs when they left.

Dana was well respected throughout the central Maine area, and will be remembered for his easy- going personality and big friendly smile. He will be missed by many.

Dana is survived by his loving wife, Vicky; son, Matt and his wife, Melissa; daughter, Jess and her husband, Joshua Boobar; his granddaughters, Ashlee and Abigail Boobar, Megan and Madison Moody, all of Corinth, Olivia Harrington of Glenburn, one grandson, Toby Harrington of North Carolina; three brothers, Thomas and his wife, Mary of South Bristol, Fred and his wife, Margo of Lincolnville, and Philip and his wife, Karen of Lincolnville; his beloved mother-in-law, Patricia Wheaton of Levant; several cousins, nieces, nephews, uncles and an aunt.
