LEVANT – Daniel L. “Danny” Ellis, 73, passed away peacefully at his home, January 27, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 27, 1949, in Bangor, the son of Dana and Irma (Lincoln) Ellis.
Danny grew up in Alton. He graduated from Old Town High School, Class of 1967. In 1984, he met Linda Bouchard and married her in 1985, celebrating nearly 40 years of marriage at the time of his passing. He spent his life working in the logging industry, owning his own company, E & E Trucking, with his brother, Richard. Later in his life he worked for Irish Trucking, in Hudson, until his retirement. He and Linda also founded and ran Linda’s Food Cupboard serving the local community for 25 years.
Danny was an avid outdoorsman; fishing, hunting, and camping. He was known for his deep, booming voice, his infectious smile that would always light up a room. A jokester at heart, he would prank his family every April Fools’ Day with some success, faithfully, every year. Memorable times included a family cruise with his siblings, a trip to Disney World with his daughter and her family, a fishing trip to remote parts of Canada, and times spent at the family camps.
In addition to his loving wife, Linda, Danny is survived by his daughter, Shelly Solomon and her husband, Dr. Greg, of Veazie; grandchildren, Sydney and Justin Solomon, of Veazie; siblings, Edward Ellis and his wife, Brenda, of Searsport, Diane Laliberte and her husband, Edward, of Alton, Shirley Pescosolido and her husband, Marc, of Hampden, Barbara Kitchen and her husband, William, of Alton, Mildred Leland and her husband, Robert, of Alton, and Mark Ellis and his wife, Sherrie, of Kenduskeag; brother-in-law, Roland Bouchard and his wife, Cynthia, of Levant; sister-in-law, Brenda Ellis, of Alton, special nephews, Gary and Bryan Bouchard, of Levant; a special uncle, David Lincoln, of Old Town; and several other nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Richard Ellis Sr.; and his mother-in-law, Grace Sullivan.
