Daniel “Danny” Robinson, 81, went home to be with his Lord and Savior December 19, 2018, at a Bangor Hospital, with his wife Betty, his best friend and love of his life, by his side. He was born January 2, 1937 in Bangor, the son of William D. and Marguerite (Lord) Robinson.
Danny graduated from Hermon High in 1955 and married Betty Norsworthy the same year. Together they raised 4 children. Danny operated Hermon Exxon for 32 years and loved interacting with the people of the community. He gave many young men an opportunity to work at the station. He loved to swing the golf club and in his later years enjoyed riding along in the golf cart with the boys. He always had a hoot or a holler at the critical moment in the course. He loved his family, was a great husband, dad, and grandfather. He loved family dinners and was always looking for the desserts before we even had finished the meal. He could always put a smile on your face with his sense of humor and no one was a stranger to him. He enjoyed coaching the boys’ basketball team for Hermon Christian School. Danny was also a charter member of Hermon Skeet Club where he and his brother, Lloyd, enjoyed their time together.
Danny is survived by his wife Betty of 63 years, his son Philip Robinson and wife Lawna; daughter Kathy Tissue and her husband Mark, who was like a son to Danny; son Steven Robinson and his wife Mona and daughter Sheila Griffin and husband Alfred. He is also survived by his 12 grandkids Lisa O’Grady, Alfred Griffin Jr, Scott Griffin, Aaron Tissue, Bethany Snow, Robert Tissue, Joel Robinson, Christina Bronson, Colby Robinson, Amanda Thibodeau, Kelly Robinson and Megan Robinson and 24 great grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his parents, brother Lloyd, and sister Rita.
