Darlene Alice Bean, 68, passed away peacefully February 3, 2023, at a Bangor hospital. She was born August 9, 1954, in Lincoln the daughter of Leon M. and Gladys M. (Kneeland) Bean.
Darlene graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in Lincoln. She worked over 49 years for the Northern Light Healthcare Systems in Bangor. Darlene enjoyed volunteering for many wonderful civic organizations throughout Bangor over the years. She had a great love for animals and raised Persian cats for several years. There are many wonderful memories of traveling, sometimes with her mother, on cruises and all over the world.
She is survived by her siblings; Robert Bean and wife Holly of Lincoln, Deborah Fraser and husband Louis of Brewer; many nieces and nephews, many grand nieces and nephews, and many close friends.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, Monday, February 20, 2023 at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor. Gifts in her memory may made to Literacy Volunteers, 354 Hogan Road, Bangor, ME 04401 or to Rape Response Services, 262 Harlow Street, Bangor, ME 04401.
