Darlene P. Moors, 73, died surrounded by her loving family on March 17th, 2023. She was born August 30th, 1949, in Bangor, ME, the daughter of Everett C. Day and Thelma M. (Preble) Day.
Darlene graduated from East Corinth Academy, Class of 1967. Following graduation, Darlene held various jobs throughout her life including CNA, hand stitcher at many local shoe shops, custodian at Hannaford, and special education driver for RSU 64 for several years. She married her love, Daniel E. Moors in 1993 and celebrated 29 years together in November.
She was a part of many candlepin bowling leagues and won trophies for her accomplishments in her younger years. She also loved to fish; she could catch a fish out of a mud puddle and enjoyed fishing with her children. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Daniel Moors, are her son, Tim Commeau and partner Calvin of Bangor; daughter Amy Woodman and her husband Josh of Levant; daughter Makayla Thompson and her husband Robert of Corinth, and a step son, Lonnie Moors of Winslow. Six grandchildren, Aubrey, Ryan, Jordan, Brooklyn, Alayna, and Noah. In addition, she was survived by her siblings Terry Day and his wife Debbie, Richard Day and his wife Suzy, and Diane Rollins and her husband Mike, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Darlene was predeceased by a baby sister, brother, Lloyd, sister, Joyce and a daughter in law, Jennifer Moors.
Relatives are welcome to visit from 8:30-9:30 am Saturday, March 25th, 2023, at Brookings-Smith Funeral Home, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 10:00am with Pastor Ricky Libby officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Garland at a later date. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at 296 White Schoolhouse Road, Corinth, following the funeral service.
