DR. DAVID W. BOOTH PhD
BANGOR - Dr David W Booth, PhD, 71 of Bangor, Maine, died Friday, December 20th. He was born October 4, 1942, in Hartford, Conn, the son of Frederic and Elsie (Matera) Booth. He grew up in West Hartford, Conn, where he met his beloved late wife and life partner of 43 years, Priscilla (Bentley) Booth.
David graduated from The University of Hartford and went on to obtain his PhD in psychology from the University of Maine, remaining in the area to make Bangor his home, until his death. He ran a successful private practice in downtown Bangor with his business partner, Linda Wakely for the last 29 years. David could be found taking a walk around Stillwater Park every morning, and he also recently found enjoyment hiking in the summer. He loved to go out to dinner every Friday night, a tradition he began with his late wife Priscilla many years ago. He enjoyed, warm weather so when the sun was out, you would him in his back yard swimming pool. He loved spending time with his family and his two cats, Pedro and Chuck. He was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed going to classic car shows, and was quickly able to identify the year, make, and model of nearly any classic car he saw on the road.
David leaves his three daughters, Cathy Rimcoski of Bristol, CT., Jennifer Doig of South Burlington, VT, and Kimberly Bentley of Hallowell, Maine; 6 grandchildren, Colin, Matthew and Kaela Brennan, Kevin and Eric Rimcoski, and Isla Doig; and a step sister, Anne Gutkowski of West Hartford, CT. In addition to his two parents, Dr. Booth was predeceased by his wife Priscilla (Bentley) Booth in 2006. Friends may call from 4-6pm Sunday, December 29th at Brookings and Smith 133 Center St., Bangor, Maine, where funeral services will be held at 10am on Monday, December 30th. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bangor Human Society 693 Mount Hope Avenue, Bangor, ME 04401.
