David Bryant

April 2, 1924 — March 2, 2022

Hampden - David B. Bryant passed away at home surrounded by family on March 2, 2022. He was born to John C. and Margaret (True) Bryant on April 2, 1924 in South Freeport.
David grew up with five siblings on the coast of Maine where his lifelong love of fishing and boating began. He attended schools in Freeport, graduated from Bridgton Academy and Portland Junior College. David enlisted in the US Navy, serving with Seabees in the Pacific Theater. David was a member of the Freeport Masonic Temple.
David married Irene Marie McCurdy, of Lubec and Portland, on October 31, 1959 and moved to Bangor. They later moved to Hampden, where they’ve lived ever since. David began his sales career with Dragon Cement, later retiring from Lockheed Martin.
Throughout his life David had a love of Freeport, where he fondly remembered Bryant family gatherings. He also had a love of McCurdy family gatherings. Every year David looked forward to his trip to Pierce Pond with friends. He also loved golf, a sport he enjoyed sharing with his wife. Other fond memories involved his love of boating, especially with friends and family.
David is survived by his wife and daughters, Kimberly Bryant Morgan (Stuart) of Columbia, SC and Lynn Bryant Hussey (Jeff) of Longmeadow, MA. He is also survived by six grandchildren, William Morgan of Houston, TX, Walker Morgan of Charlotte, NC, Caitlin Hussey on NY, NY, Connor Hussey NY, NY, Charles (Chase) Hussey of Hampden, and Kevin Hussey of Portland, ME. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Caroline Morgan; his siblings, John C. Jr of Everett, WA, Margo Fisher of Pahrump, NV, Priscilla Eames of Portsmouth, NH, Douglas Bryant of Las Vegas, NV and Daniel Bryant of Hampton, NH
David will be fondly remembered by many friends and family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John’s Catholic Church, 217 York St, Bangor in June 2022. Family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St, Bangor immediately following the mass.
