David L. Cutler

Orono- David L. Cutler, 91, died peacefully November 10, 2018 at a Bangor Hospital. He was born April 24, 1927 in Old Town Son of, Samuel M. and Helen C. (Eisenstadt) Cutler.
David attended Old Town schools, was a U.S. Navy Veteran, and graduated from the University of Maine, Class of 1950. Following graduation from the University he spent time in New York City, working in the retailing industry. It was there that he met and married Diane Schwat in 1952. He then returned to Bangor, and joined Cutlers family retail clothing business in Old Town. He was active in numerous community services and over the years served on the Bangor school board and the Maine state school board.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Diane of Orono; one daughter, Judith Sproule and her husband, Thomas, of Trenton; a son, Michael Cutler of Glenburn; Three grandchildren, Anna, Jonathan, and Samuel; one sister, Rachel Schwartz of South Portland.
A funeral service will be held 12 noon Monday, November 12, 2018 at the Jewish Funeral Chapel, 118 Center Street, Bangor with Rabbi Darah R. Lerner officiating. Interment will be in Beth Israel Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor, following the services, Monday.
