David B. Farnham passed peacefully at home in Levant, Maine, surrounded by family.
He was born December 17th, 1937 in Brockton, Massachusetts, the son of Alan and Dorothy (Brown) Farnham. David graduated from Brockton High School, Class of 1956. He married Paula-Anne Bumpus of West Bridgewater, settling first in Bridgewater and then in Easton. In 1966, they celebrated the birth of their son, Steven Alan Farnham. After moving to West Bridgewater, Massachusetts, Paula and David became close to many families on Spring St., forming close ties with neighbors and friends. They were faithful members of several church communities over the three decades of their marriage, including Trinity Baptist and New Hope Christian Chapel. They celebrated the birth of their daughter, Katherine Elizabeth Farnham (Badavas) in 1977.
David was an accomplished draftsman for over three decades, drafting designs for industrial fans and medical instruments, including neonatal heart pumps. His wife Paula-Anne passed in 1997.
In 1999 David moved with his son and his family to Levant, Maine. Once again, David became a fixture in his neighborhood, with his daily walks, his gentle and kind spirit, and his willingness to help whoever needed it. He was a loyal attendee of Harvest Chapel, making friends in his quiet way. In retirement, he worked for Steve delivering auto parts and was renowned for his encyclopedic knowledge of rural Maine. Never one to sit still, he was also his son’s faithful assistant in the garage, “holding” the flashlight and bleeding brake lines. David loved spending time with family, whether it was Sunday pizza day, napping on the deck, or sailing on Little Sebago.
He is survived by his son, Steven Farnham and his wife, Suzanne Farnham, and his daughter, Katherine Badavas and her husband, Chris Badavas; his grandchildren: Sarah and her partner Hunter, Samantha and her husband Tim, Seth and his wife Kaytee, Samuel, Johnathan and his wife Kayleigh, Jeremiah, Meghan, Hannah, Matthew, Andrew, Nicholas, Brooke, Elena, and Benjamin; and his great-grandchildren: Lyla, Benjamin, Madelyn, Emilia, and Christos.
