David Leeman

October 16, 1961 — February 20, 2020

David Michael Leeman, 58, passed away February 20, 2020 after a brief illness. He was born October 16, 1961 in Bangor, the son of Patricia A. (McInnis) Leeman.

He attended Bangor High School after which he began work in the restaurant business and stayed in it his whole life. He worked in the Bangor area but after working in Bar Harbor one summer he never left. Many of David’s co-workers become lifelong friends and he will be remembered for rousing nights on the town in Bah Hahbah, where glasses were filled and emptied ready for the next round or ‘round the corner to the next bar. Some of those years he was married to his wife, Vicki, the love of his life, until their divorce.

David was quick witted, intelligent, sensitive, funny, and had a somewhat sarcastic sense of humor. He loved all kinds of music, his favorite being Rock and Roll with the Rolling Stones near the top of the list. David attended the New Orleans Jazz Festival many times. He was involved in Democratic Politics from an early age, which continued throughout his life. The night before he died, he watched the Democratic Debate in Las Vegas. His four brothers will remember guitar singalongs around the fire at camp.

The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to Chris Kirk for her friendship, help, and support to David during his last few months. Thank you, Chris.

David is survived by his mother, Patricia A. Leeman; four brothers, Timothy and his wife, Cindy, Donny and his significant other, Sarah, Richard and his wife, Shirley, and Kenny. He will be missed by Donny’s children, Adam, Morgan and Max, and by Dick’s children, Jim and Jeff; Aunty Jean; many cousins will remember his fondly, and his Aunt Sue will be especially sad that he is not with us.

A liturgy outside of Mass will be held 11 AM Friday, March 6, 2020 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor, followed by the Rite of Committal at Mt.
