Holden, Maine – David J. Sluka 75 died September 5th, 2021 in Bangor, Maine. He was born March 11, 1946 in Presque Isle, Maine. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Dorothy Sluka.
A graduate from Presque Isle High School in 1964 and from Husson College in 1980, he worked in Bangor for Lemforder Corp. for 27 years before retiring in 2008.
Dave served in the Us Navy for 4 years and the Maine Air National Guard for 17 years. During his service to his country, he received:

Dave was proud of his family’s military service. His father served in the Air Force for 28 years, his brother served in the Navy for 22 years, and Dave served 21.
Dave is survived by his wife Priscilla, his sister Joyce Hanson of Stockholm, Maine, his brother Steven and sister-in-law Linda of Virginia Beach, Virginia, nephews Travis and Tyler and niece Tori. He is also survived by special friends Sherman and Susi Curie, Barbara Gallant, Jim Stacey Charles Pelletier, and his brother from another mother, Dan Wilson.
Dave always enjoyed a good adrenaline rush from racing snowmobiles to skydiving with a buddy to enjoying his Corvette sports cars.
Funeral services with full military honors will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 13, 2021 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Family Reception Center, 163 Center St., Bangor immediately following the service.
