Hermon - Deborah Jean (Harris) Colman, passed gently on Saturday, October 8, 2022, in her home surrounded by her family. She was three days shy of her 70th birthday.
A kind and generous person, Debbie was born in Bangor, October 11, 1952, to Martin A. Harris and Regina Colleen (Decesaro) Harris. She attended Bangor schools and was a member of the Bangor High School Class of 1970. Nineteen years later, in 1989, after a career in the insurance industry, she proudly received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Maine. She had set her mind and heart on becoming a nurse after the death of her beloved father-in-law, Ivory Thompson.
Debbie is survived by her devoted husband, Gene Colman, and his children, Rebecca Bianco, and Brian Colman, and their families; her daughters, Renee True, Gina McCarthy (Jesse Byard), and Piper Matson (Chris); her cherished grandchildren, Chase and Josette Hartley, Riley McCarthy, and Kallie and Gabriel Thompson. She also leaves behind her three remaining sisters; Thomasina Watson (Jim), Monica Bronson, and their children and grandchildren, and her ‘baby’ sister, Renee Eddy, as well as her sister-in-law, Sharon Eddy and brothers-in-law, Don Sawyer and Jim and Alan Colman. She will be sadly missed by her dearest precious “Aunt Nina” Barbara Shamberger and her family.
She was predeceased by her mother and father; her stepfather, Stanley Eddy; her sisters, Roxanne Sawyer and Karen Ward; and her brothers, Allen and David Harris and John Eddy.
A Celebration of her life will be held for family and friends from 12-3 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at her home in Hermon.
Gifts in her memory may be sent to St Joseph Homecare and Hospice at PO Box 403 Bangor, Maine 04402-0403.
