Debra Sue Ann (Gauvin) Smith, 60, passed away Monday, February 10, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was born May 26, 1959 in Caribou, the daughter of Roger and Roberta (McNeil) Gauvin.

Debra graduated from Caribou High School, class of 1977 and moved to Orono to attend the University of Maine, where she met her husband, Marshall. She was one of the first person to be registered as a Cardiac Cauterization Technician in the state. Debra worked 40 years at Eastern Maine Medical Center. Later in life she enjoyed quilting and doing crafts for her family.

She was predeceased by her father, Roger Gauvin.

ebra is survived by her husband of 39 years, Marshall E. Smith; son, Benjamin Smith and his wife, Mallori; mother, Roberta Walton and her husband, Conrad; brothers, Randy Gauvin and his wife, Ruth, Steve Gauvin and his wife, Nancy, Danny Gauvin and his wife, Lynnell, Scott Walton and his wife, Hope; sister, Marsha Gauvin; granddaughter, Kenzy Smith; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held 1-3pm Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor. Those who wish the remember Debra is a special way may make gifts in her memory to Lafayette Family Cancer Center, C/O Northern Light Health Foundation, P.O. Box 931 Bangor, Maine 04402-0931.
