Dee Osgood

August 16, 1945 — April 1, 2023

Brewer - It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the death of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and all our favorite teacher, Dee Ann (Dempsey) Osgood, who passed away on April 1, 2023.
Dee was born August 16, 1945, to Percy and Helen (Simmons) Dempsey and grew up in Orono. She is well-known throughout our large and sprawling family for her fierce kindness, love of animals, and generosity. Fondly remembered for her rhyming clues for each Easter hunt, expertly decorated birthday cakes in the shapes of our favorite cartoon characters, and the best homemade Halloween costumes, which made us all want to remain kids for those special moments.
She made our prom dresses, bridesmaid's dresses, treasured blankets, and the best home décor of the 80s. She gave lessons in knitting, sewing, and treating others with kindness that will never be forgotten.
She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Robert Dempsey; infant brother, Raymond; and sister, Marlene Thomas. She is survived by her devoted husband, James E. Osgood Jr.; daughters, Suzanne Rowell and her husband, Rick, Paulie Nichols, Wendy Tarbox and her husband, Mike, and Jodie Osgood; son, Robert Osgood and his wife, Joyce; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, not counting all the children who came across her path who she self-adopted as her own.
She will be sorely missed by her best friend, Charlie, who stayed curled up on her bed until she was taken from us all.
At her request there will be no funeral. Donations may be made in her memory to the Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mount Hope Ave., Bangor, ME 04401.
