Kenduskeag – Dennis J. Berry, 70, died October 31, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 13, 1945 in Gardner, MA the son of Lloyd and Katherine (Pinkham) Berry. Dennis graduated from Bangor High School Class of “1963”. He enjoyed hunting, trapping and especially fishing on Schoodic Lake with his friend Victor Peavey. Dennis loved taking his boat the “Hailey Dawn” to Blue Hill and Eastport mackerel fishing. In 1970, he started the D.J. Berry & Son construction company which still operates today. He was a dedicated, honest, hardworking man who took great pride in his business. Dennis had a good working relationship with his customers. Through his business and his hard work, it gave him the opportunity to provide for the family he loved so much, especially his grandkids. Dennis would make his grandchildren root beer floats whenever they wanted and it didn’t matter what time of day. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Kevin Lloyd Berry. Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Cheryl (Pullen) Berry; two children, Amanda Berry and her fiancé Ralph Carey Jr., of Biddeford, and Michelle Louk and her husband Aaron of Kenduskeag; two grandchildren, Hailey Dawn Louk “The Hammer” and Katelyn Taylor Louk “Little Butt”. Dennis was awaiting the birth of his third grandchild, Anthony Joseph Carey, due in January; his friend and constant companion, Bentley; brother Charles Berry Sr., and his wife Thaila, of Corinth; sister Sharon (Berry) Gonyar of Orono; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends are invited to call from 5-7 p.m. Monday November 2, 2015 at Brookings-Smith 133 Center St., Bangor where a funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday November 3, 2015 with Paul Sanford, officiating. Interment will be held in the Kenduskeag Village Cemetery, Kenduskeag. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Kenduskeag Union Church 826 Kenduskeag Levant Rd, Kenduskeag immediately following the interment.
