HAMPDEN – Diane H. Spaulding, 78, an angel who passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 29th, 2020, at the Woodlands Memory Care facility, received her wings. She was born August 19, 1941, in Pittsburg, PA, the daughter of Catherine E. Angstadt.
Diane attended Eastern Nazarene College to earn a degree in Business. Diane was a Cosmetologist, holding licenses in both Pennsylvania and Maine. Diane served as an insurance agent at New York Life Insurance, as well as Northwestern Mutual Life, where she was the first woman insurance agent in the state of Maine to sit at the Leaders in Business round table, a prestigious award. In her later years prior to retirement, Diane was an in-home health care worker with the elderly. She loved the families she was able to serve, and did so until they passed.
Diane was a member of Church of the Nazarene. She held many roles in the church: Sunday School Teacher, Ladies Ministries, Greeter, Board Member and Marriage Enrichment Instructor. She later enjoyed attending services at The Rock Church in Bangor, Maine, loving the messages and music there as well. She was a woman of faith, and all that knew Diane, knew she had or was praying for them. She was an avid reader, hostess, and enjoyed physical fitness. Her greatest love was her daughters, Julie and Wendi, and her grandchildren. She loved spending time with family, celebrating family holidays, birthdays, weddings, school events. Diane was ever present, and knew how to make everyone feel special.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Ray A. Spaulding; are her daughters, Julie K. Robbins, of Bangor; Wendi E. Burns, of Winterport; step-daughters, Marney Tuite and Amanda Palmacci; grandchildren, Kristen H. Sockbeson, Elizabeth G. Robbins, Daniel J. Robbins, Jeffrey A. Burns II, Kalie O. Erb of Connellsville, PA; and the many relatives in the Kutztown/Reading Area, in Pennsylvania, of which, when permitted, will be a family celebration with them as well.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Woodlands Memory Care and its staff for becoming Diane’s other family and taking good care of her. Also, a thank you to Beacon Hospice for the excellent care to her as well, and the support provided in end-of-life to Diane and her family.
