Donald Cormier

February 25, 1957 — December 1, 2021

Donald A. Cormier, 64, passed away December 1, 2021, at his home after a long battle with cancer. He was born February 25, 1957, in Bangor, the son of George A. and Constance M. (LaChance) Cormier.

Donald grew up in Veazie and graduated from Orono High School in the Class of 1976. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force where he guarded planes at Loring Air Force Base. Donald worked for Eastern Fine Paper in the 1970’s and worked there until the plant closed. He also worked at Old Town Canoe where he was a fabricator of the canoes. Donald learned to hunt with his father and older brother. Many days he enjoyed hunting in West Old Town. Later while moose hunting Donald was his brothers sub-permit holder and put his first shot into our 2009 bull moose. In his final years he spent time taking care of his life partner Claire of Newburgh.

He is survived by his loving life partner, Claire B. Trask of Newburgh; siblings, Annette Cormier and partner Mel Towle of Dexter, Richard Cormier and wife Rebecca of Carmel, and a sister Karen Cormier of Glenburn. He was predeceased by both of his parents.
