ORRINGTON - Donald J. Griffith, 67, died unexpectedly on September 20, 2022 at a Bangor hospital. He was born on July 22, 1955, in Philadelphia PA, the son of Harry and Marie (Snaith) Griffith.

Don was also a park ranger in New Jersey. He was one of the first supervisors and officers in the Transportation Security Administration when it was created after 9/11. Don chose to be stationed at the airport in Bangor as he had fond memories of Maine from several hunting trips. He owned and operated DG Firearms in Hermon where he also taught firearm safety classes. Due to health issues, Don retired and spent many happy years enjoying our great state.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Kathy (Dort) Griffith, are his sons, Richard Griffith and his wife, Sandra, and Douglas Griffith and his wife, Lori, of Tennessee; five grandchildren; Trevor, Bearach, Erin, Ryan and Brody; two sisters, Donna Griffith and Denise Stonis; step-brother, Buddy Griffith and his wife, Barbara; nephews, Vincent, and Christopher and his wife, Brittney; great-niece, Isabel Stonis of New Jersey; brothers-law, Richard and Brian; sister-in-law, Ida; nieces, Emily Dort and Nicole Benson and family of Maine and nephew, Ryan Dort and family of Florida.
