Donald Mckenzie

Donald McKenzie, 76, passed away unexpectedly Sunday October 13, 2013 at his residence. He was born October 14, 1936, in Bangor, the son of the late Alva and Gladys (Brown) McKenzie. Many may remember Don as the “Street Sweeper” of Bangor. His twenty nine years of service to the City of Bangor was recognized when he retired in 2008 with a surprise party by his co-workers. He is survived by his wife Hazel of Bangor, five children, Nancy and her husband George, Ricky and his wife Amy, Ida, Scott and his wife Lyndsay, Michael and his wife Sandy. Don also leaves behind four stepchildren, whom he loved and considered his own, Dale, Dana, Lori, and Carl Lally, 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, as well as a sister Jean True and a brother Bill. A memorial service will be held 1 PM Wednesday October 16, 2013 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith 55 South Main St. Brewer. Condolences may be expressed to family at www.BrookingsSmith.com
