EDDINGTON – Donn C. Goodwin, 74, died unexpectedly April 4, 2015, at his home. He was born August 20, 1940, in Bangor, the son of Ralph and Hazel (Clapp) Goodwin.
Donn graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1958. He was a very active member of our community and was involved in Masonic Lodge, Anah Shrine, local fire fighter, constable, Eddington selectman for 15 years, and Brewer Federal Credit Union for 55 years. He worked at Eastern Fine Paper for 45 years. Donn was a very kind and caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and he was the family leader and our go to man. Donn was well loved and a great mentor to everyone.
Donn is survived by his children, Wendy Barronton, Steve Clark, Larry Clark, Rick Clark, Sharon Clark, Mike Clark; a special grandson Shaun Goodwin; 19 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis Garnett and Rhoda Turner; many nieces and nephews; and many foster children. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by Jean, Faustine, and Judy; 4 brothers; and 3 sisters, and a twin sister, Donna.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., following the service. Interment will be private for the family later in the spring.
