Donna Kay Hauge, 72, passed away peacefully at a Bangor hospital on February 18, 2025, in the arms of her true love and husband, John. While she battled cancer, she never gave up hope, and she never stopped planning for the future or looking forward to the Spring and Red Sox baseball.
Born in Seattle, WA on June 3, 1952, the daughter of Johnnie and Wanda Gourley, Donna lived a life full of love, touching the lives of many as her life's adventures took her from coast to coast.
After her graduation from Lincoln High School in Seattle, WA., and for over forty years, Donna worked in the oral health care industry - passionately trying to help patients overcome their apprehension of visiting the dentist. She leaned on her innate ability to put people at ease, frequently offering an open ear or a joke, or even a sarcastic remark (this may seem like a stretch to those who knew her). Her love for time spent relaxing at camp or knitting, kayaking, drinking Dunkin Donuts iced coffee, and mermaids all pale in comparison to her love for the Boston Red Sox.
More than anything, Donna loved people, and she lived her life with intention. Donna knew no strangers and she loved seeing her family and friends smile. She prioritized being there for her people when they needed her most. Whether actively participating at Church, or giving larger-than-life hugs, Donna's presence helped to take the pressure off the room and remind us all not to take life too seriously. She had a personality that was loved and appreciated by those who truly knew her.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents and her precious Aunt Margaret. She is proudly survived by husband of 38 years, John Hauge, of Holden, ME.; daughter, Kendall Lennard of Portland, OR.; sister, Lynn Studley and husband, Bob, of Coquille, OR; stepsons, Tom Hauge and wife, Michelle, of Bentonville, AR.; and Mike Hauge and wife, Tammy, of Auburn, WA.; grandchildren, Darian Brewer and Benjamin and Greyson Hauge, , and Hayley Klotz and Olivia and Austin Hauge; nephew and niece, Ryan and Deanna Studley.
A Celebration of Life will be held this Spring in Bangor, ME, to honor Donna's incredible life and the impact she made on all of us. The Celebration will include Boston Red Sox baseball, will be a mayonnaise-free celebration and it will feature her favorite song, 'Smile' - by Charlie Chaplin (performed by Michael Jackson).
Gifts in Donna's memory may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 540 Essex Street, Bangor, ME 04401.
