Donna Honey
Donna Honey (82) passed onto her next life on June 24th, 2019 while staying at the VA hospital in Bangor, Maine. Donna was born on May 24th, 1937 to Roscoe and Maude Doughty of Bangor. She was pre-deceased by siblings Percy, Marvin, Ervin, Gary, Carmen Clark, and very special mother in law Etta Honey. Donna was the life of any gathering with her love for dancing, beano, scratch tickets, and never ending chaos being her forte. While raising her son Denny, she was affectionately known as “Ma Honey” by the kids from John R. Graham and Orono High. Her Grandsons Dusty and Tyler were the true lights of her eye. She never missed a school function or athletic event they were ever part of. Then, somehow, everyone took a little step back in her affections over the last seven years or so when a little Red Head named Noah hit the scene! Her great-grandson was her world. Donna sold Avon for many years in the Bangor area. She consistently was awarded the Presidential award for sales. Donna will be sadly missed by her husband Denny whom she met at the age of 15 while attending Garland Street school and was with at the time of her peaceful passing 67 years later. When Denny Jr. married Katy, Donna gained a grandson David and granddaughter Abby that she loved dearly.
Donna is also survived by her sister Shirley Harrison, Brother in law Norman Clark and sister in law Maureen Moss. Relatives and Friends can call on Thursday June 27th, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at Brookings-Smith 133 Center Street Bangor, Me. A Funeral service will be held at the same venue at 9 a.m. Friday June 28th, 2019 with an interment immediately following at the Mt. Hope cemetery in Bangor. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to the VA Home Recreation fund located in Bangor, Maine. Denny and Denny, JR cannot express their gratitude for the un-yielding care they gave Donna.
