Kenduskeag - Donna L. (Wentworth) Olesky, 77, died from a brief illness (NOT COVID) on January 24, 2022 at St. Joseph Hospital with her family by her side. She was born July 5, 1944 in Southwest Harbor, daughter of Alton and Rose Wentworth.
Donna graduated from Pemetic High School in Southwest Harbor and Husson College in Bangor. Donna was predeceased by her parents, her brother, Tim Wentworth, and her sister, Natalie Douglas. Surviving in addition to her loving husband, Robert Olesky, are her sons, Maynard Hawes and wife, LeeAnn, Mark Hawes and wife, Kim, and Richard Hawes, her much loved grandchildren, Kylie, Jordan, Tyler and Parker Hawes, her sister, Penny Knowles, special brother-in-law Dale Douglas, special nieces, Kim and Karen and their families, stepdaughters, Robin and Melissa and their families, and her special girl’s night out group. Donna has many special friends and former co-workers too numerous to mention.
Donna was known for her love of cooking, knitting, canning, taking care of others and her passion for gardening. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. A special thank you to the staff on the 6th floor of St. Joseph Hospital for their comfort care.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 4pm to 6pm at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor. Interment will be in the spring in Southwest Harbor. Those who wish to remember Donna in a special way may make donations in her name to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation 230 East Ohio Street Suite 500 Chicago, IL 60611.
