HERMON - Donna E. (Shannon) Reynolds, 87, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2024. She was born in Wytopitlock, on July 16, 1937, to Marvel (Washburn) and Earl Shannon. She was the oldest of two sisters and one brother.
Donna was wed to Ronald on January 11, 1956. They were married for sixty-eight years. Residing in Hermon, they raised five children, Ronald Jr., Kimberly, Jeffrey, Johnny, and Carolyn.
Donna dedicated her life to raising her children and maintaining the home until she began work in food service in 1984. She began with an organic baby food company which ran out of the former Pleasant Hill Dairy in Hermon and later worked for Jeanie Marshall, Sodexo, and New Don’s.
Donna enjoyed gardening, sharing her canned veggies, jams, jellies, pickles, and other homemade goodies, knitting, and participating in any activity she could for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a life-long member of St. Mary’s Parish.
Donna is survived by her children, Ronnie Jr. and his wife, Debbie, Kimberly and her husband, Dan, Jeff and his wife, Kimm, and Carolyn and her husband, Eric. She was a proud Gram/Nana to Amy, Jeffrey, Eric, Kristi, Jason, Jodi, Lisa, Haley, and Allison, and to their spouses and significant others and a proud Great-Gram/Nana to Kelsie, Kali, Kole, Keagan, Khloe, Emma, Bryson, and Victoria. Donna is survived by her special aunt, Julia Turner. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ronald; brother, Timothy; sisters, Kathy Lou and Sally; and infant son, Johnny.
The family would like to thank caregivers, Lesa, Stacey, Pam, and Amanda. Special thanks to the many family and friends who helped care for her.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m., Sunday, September 29, 2024 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to call from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be held at Snows Corner Cemetery, Hermon.
