Doris Marie Des Isles was born Nov 22, 1932 in N.Y. She died May 3rd in her home. She is survived by her daughter Donna of Florida, her sons David and Dan of Bangor, her grandchildren, Neil, Nicole, Hannalee, and Natalie of Bangor, Leslianne of Atlanta, and her great grandchildren Kayden, Kael, Kyah, Caleb, Cameron, and Michael, her nieces and nephew, Suzanne, Rosemary, Jacqueline, Marin, and Jeff. She is predeceased by her husband Eugene Des Isles.
Doris was a successful business woman running Rapid Research for over 30 years. She was an active member of Zonta International, and very involved with Good Samaritan, EMAN and Spruce Run to name a few in Bangor.
In N.Y. she was a 4-H Troop leader, a “patterning” volunteer for Cerebral Palsy, and on the National Board of Directors of the Joseph F. Kennedy Foundation for Kidney Disease. These all culminated in her winning the prestigious Jefferson Award in 1991.
The family invites relatives and friends to share in conversation and refreshments 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St. Bangor.
