Doris Janet (Ketch) Doll, 62, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 6, 2016, at her home at Sunbury Village. She was born in Caribou, February 3, 1954, daughter of Herbert L. and Janet H. (Holmquist) Ketch. She was a graduate of Caribou High School, class of 1972. In 1976 she graduated from UMO with a bachelor%u2019s degree in education and again in 1993 with a master%u2019s degree. She was a special education teacher for 37 years, having taught at schools in Newburgh, Hampden and Bucksport. Doris loved helping students in Special Olympics. She had been a dedicated member of Columbia St. Baptist Church since 1981. For years Doris baked sweets for the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen. She faithfully sent gifts to children around the world through Operation Christmas Child. Doris married Richard E. Doll April 16, 1994; he predeceased her in July 2012. She was also predeceased by two nephews, Daniel St. Pierre and Kurt LeVasseur. At the age of 16, Doris was diagnosed with diabetes; then at the age of 31, she received a kidney transplant. She was always grateful to the anonymous donor for the gift of a kidney that lasted 31 years. She loved her cats, playing cribbage, Sudoku, making cards and spending time with friends. Doris%u2019s family and friends will always remember the many cards they received for holidays and special occasions. Surviving are four sisters, Donna St. Pierre and her husband David of TX., Doreen Campbell and her companion Blaise Caldwell of Caribou and FL., Diane Hopkins and her husband Jefferson of Orrington, Debbie Tardy and her husband Harold of Woodland; one brother, Darrell Ketch and his wife Gael of Standish; a sister-in-law Bernie Oster and her husband Dan of Stetson; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. The family would like to thank the many doctors that cared for Doris over the years.
