Dorothy “Buttons” E. Pozzy, 83, passed away on December 18, 2022, at a Brewer healthcare facility. She was born August 17, 1939, in Monroe, Louisiana, the daughter of Manuel C. and Eloise (Corry) McDonald.
Buttons graduated from Stratford Hall Prep School, Banville, VA, in 1957. Buttons enjoyed tennis, golf, and needlepoint. Buttons and Bill enjoyed working together in their amazing flower gardens. She was also a master of Crossword Puzzles. She enjoyed time with her family at their Sandy Bay Camp on Moosehead Lake. Buttons was a long time member of the Shakespeare Club of Bangor.
She is survived by his children; Peter Pozzy of Florida, Jeff Pozzy and wife Amy of Newburgh, Lee Pozzy of Newburgh, and Mike Pozzy of Florida; a sister, Barbara Mackinson of Georgia; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his loving husband of 64 years, William “Bill” S. Pozzy.
A graveside funeral gathering will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Mt. Hope Cemetery, 1048 State Street, Bangor.
